In July 2003, EDS were asked by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to produce a feasibility study incorporating four different options for Winsford Health Centre in Cheshire.  The studies were to assist the strategic appraisal of the Trust's estates at that time and whether different mental health services could be combined on a single site to improve delivery to clients.

In 2007 a major re-planning and refurbishment project was undertaken.  EDS worked to a very specific and detailed brief prepared by the Trust.  The £750,000.00 scheme was completed on budget and to programme and opened in October 2008.

In early 2008, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust appointed EDS as lead design consultants for the refurbishment of a general surgery ward at Furness General Hospital in Barrow.  Part of the scheme was to replan the ward to include four en-suite isolation rooms designed in accordance with the Department of Health efm standard HBN4, supplement 1.  They prepared the scheme for all building works and associated specialist fitting out work and were supported by the building services specialists Messrs Pettit Singleton Associates of Preston who were responsible for services design.

The project commenced on site in March 2008 and EDS project managed the scheme on behalf of the client including full Building Control application and ongoing liaison to practical completion in July 2008.
